Ostheimer have been hand crafting fine wooden toys for more than 50 years. The figures are produced and finished individually in Germany. The quality of their pieces are fantastic.
 
Ostheimer wooden figures are produced exclusively from high quality native hardwood, maple and elm. The design and the colour is based on the awareness that the children must still be able to feel and experience the wood. The transparent colours non-toxic, water-soluble stains which do not hide the natural surface of the wood. 
 
Typical for that educational wooden toy, each figure is designed to capture the typical form and movement of the created animal, person or object.  Their form and colour are purposely kept to a minimum so that your child’s fantasy world is preserved and so that their own creative imagination inspires their play.  In their interaction with the condensed forms and soft colours of the Ostheimer figures, children learn to enliven them with their own imaginative abilities and to provide them with everything they need for the game in question
