Kaethe Kruse is a well-known German toy maker who has been making beautiful hand-crafted dolls and toys for over 100 years. The Kathe Kruse Doll Studio is the oldest German doll company that is still existing and working in the traditional way. Handwork, simplicity of design, integrity, and an aversion to gimmicks and fads are still very much a part of how the dolls are made. Each doll and item of doll clothing is made by hand and takes from 16 to 36 hours to make. Kathe Kruse in the Waldorf community has been synonymous with the best of German Waldorf dolls. The face of every Kathe Kruse doll is either hand painted or hand embroidered. Special care is given to the detailed workmanship of each doll.
