The German Habermaaß company were established in 1938. The company are focused on children, to support their development, to make their life more exciting, more cheerful and more delightful in a nutshell. In 1938 HABA started with colorfully polished building bricks. Over the years the factory for quality wooden toys has come up with a wider range of ideas for toys and for home products. The HABA wood manufacturing company is known for high-quality baby and children's toys, as well as children's games. The name HABA stands for high quality products and age appropriate materials. HABA uses mainly wood, especially the local European forestry products - Maple and Beech. These woods have a long tradition in the production of toys and wood is a naturally germ-free material. Many of the HABA toys have already been awarded national and international prizes for their top-quality, child-oriented design, such as ‘Design Plus’ or the ‘German Wooden Toy Design Prize’. Their games have also won many awards in recent years, including the ‘Game of the Year’ award and the ‘German Games Prize’.
Playing is an elementary learning process for children: by touching, listening, seeing, combining, experiencing and comprehending they playfully discover their social surroundings.
